Water Direct Introduces Innovative Plastic-Free Bottles

Alternative water supplier Water Direct has introduced plastic-free bottles to its suite of products and services.

The plastic-free, Eco For Life branded bottles are made from PLA (Polylactic Acid) which is derived from corn starch and certified as free from genetically modified ingredients. The bottles are printed using vegetable ink and filled with spring water from a British source.

Concerns around single-use plastic remain high on the agenda; following its release in 2018, David Attenborough’s Blue Planet II is often considered the catalyst for the impressive nationwide effort to reduce its use.

A number of industries including events, construction and rail, alongside a large portion of the general public, are taking a conscious stance against single-use plastic with some companies having committed to being 100% free of single-use plastic bottles in the future.

Sven Parris Senior Sales & Marketing Manager at Water Direct explained, “Being able to offer plastic-free alternatives allows us to support our customers in their efforts to reduce single-use plastics. The Eco for Life bottles are an innovative way to offer the convenience of bottled water whilst addressing environmental concerns."

"Offering plastic-free bottles is just one of the alternatives we have on offer. We provide a number of options including the Aqube, our unique one-use, recyclable tank which provides 1,000 litres of drinking water and is often a popular choice for event organisers."

"It’s crucially important to us that we offer the widest possible choice to our customers.”
