Cancer Central becomes a Founding Partner of The Cancer Awareness Trust

UK Charity, The Cancer Awareness Trust takes another step closer in their development of the Cancer Platform, as they join forces with Cancer Central. The organisation becomes The Cancer Awareness Trusts’ latest Founding Partner.

Cancer Central’s mission was to help people affected by cancer to find the support and information they needed. The platform and charity were developed by volunteers in their spare time, with an impressive 70,000 hours donated by volunteers from over 60 organisations and 300 individuals.

Collaboration with Cancer Platform will mean the practical, technical, and intellectual insights that the organisation has gathered during their own development journey, will be utilised by The Cancer Awareness Trust to help inform the build and development of Cancer Platform - a free to use, global resource that will better equip people affected by cancer to find expert information they can trust, quickly and easily.

Cancer Central Founder, Avril Chester comments, “Our dreams have come true. Everything we have learnt together over the last 6 years is about to be accelerated to help support those affected by cancer at scale. Collectively we can support even more people affected by cancer across the world.”

Founder, Prof. Sir Chris Evans comments, “The admirable dedication and hard work of the volunteers, organisations, board and its Founder Avril Chester, to developing a tool that helps people with their cancer journey will now live on through our Cancer Platform. I am thrilled we can go on that journey together. We are stronger for it!”
