D&O Motor Services urges vehicle checks as winter approaches
King’s Lynn-based D&O Motor Services Ltd is urging motorists to carry out thorough checks on their vehicles in the weeks ahead as autumn slips into winter.
Co-owner Adam Overland said: “The clocks are going back, it’s Halloween and half-term time for many schools. That can only mean colder weather and darker, longer nights, so road users need to be prepared now before winter really sets in.”
Each year, around a quarter of all weather-related accidents involving vehicles take place in icy, snowy or sleety conditions.
Adam adds: “Your motor may seem to be running perfectly well, but it’s still a sensible idea to do a winter check at this time of year, to highlight any issues you may not realise are there.”
The things a winter check can cover include:
• Tyre inspection
• Battery test
• Light assessment
• Oil level check
• Windscreen wipers check
• Top-up of anti-freeze and coolant
All of the above become particularly important during the colder weather and will help protect your car and keep you and anyone travelling with you safe.
“The last thing you want on a dark, cold night is for your tyres, battery or indeed anything else to start giving you trouble,” continued Adam. “We’re here to help with a full service.”
D&O Motor Services was launched in 2017 by Adam and business partner Mike Docherty.
It offers servicing and MOTs and has four advanced diagnostic machines on-site. Brake and safety checks are done free of charge.
“We work on all makes and model of car, and provide a dealership feel without the price tag.”
