D&O Motors Services Ltd supports National Apprenticeship Week
King’s Lynn-based D&O Motor Services Ltd is highlighting the importance of apprentice car technicians following National Apprenticeship Week this week.
Adam Overland established the company two years ago with business partner Mike Docherty, with whom he had worked previously.
Adam and Mike said: “We really value apprenticeships, which are hugely important to our industry, and the week is the ideal chance to showcase the many opportunities being an apprentice can offer to those involved. So we’re delighted to support it.”
Run by the government, National Apprenticeship Week celebrates the impact apprenticeships can have on individual workers and employers as well as the wider economy. This year, the theme of the week was Blaze a Trail.
A range of activities and events were held nationwide, aimed at changing people’s perceptions of apprenticeships and who can take them up, in industries from policing to aviation, finance to engineering.
At D&O Motor Services, the business is now five-strong and aims to hire more staff in the future to expand further.
The company offers both car servicing and MOT appointments, which includes a year-long, 12,000-mile warranty. But there has also been a shift towards diagnostics, and there are a number of diagnostic machines on the premises. The company carries out brake and other safety checks free of charge.
Co owners Adam and Mike added: “Together we bring some three decades’ combined experience to the business, and we love being here in King’s Lynn. We can handle all models and make of motor, and aim to provide the feel of a dealership at an affordable price.”
