Lasagna business celebrates fine dining event

Norwich-based market stall and catering firm Lasagneria, which brings a taste of Italy to local diners, is toasting the success of its latest fine-dining event.

The Italian Gourmet Dinner Party, held at The Yoga Tree on the city’s All Saints Green on April 28, was an intimate occasion for just 25 diners, and affordably priced at just £35 a head.

Lasagneria is popular locally for its stall and event catering, and its success is down to the authentic Italian recipes and high-quality food created by head chef and founder, Paolo Grazzini.

He said: “We offered tickets first-come, first-served as we knew demand would be high – and we sold them quickly! We were keen to build on the success of our previous fine-dining events.

“The venue was perfect – big enough to give everyone space but cosy enough to feel like a real Italian dining room or kitchen.

“We were thrilled the event was such a hit, and we hope to hold more dinner parties soon.”

With a focus on fresh ingredients and rich, traditional flavours, the menu featured cheese and salami crostini, a slow-cooked potato and beef stew from Tuscany plus an Italian cake for dessert. Dinner was topped off by a glass of Tuscan raisin wine, or passito.

Lasagneria launched in December 2016, offering lasagna and pasta dishes from its stall at Norwich Provisions Market. The authentic Italian lasagnas are made with classic Bolognese sauce or you can opt for the vegetarian option.

Previously a head frier at the Grosvenor Fish Bar, Grazzini comes from a family of chefs, and all his sauces are home-made.
