Breast Cancer Haven, Yorkshire are proud to announce their new Yorkshire centre ambassador,

Dawn-Maria France. Dawn-Maria is the Editor-in-chief of women’s news magazine Yorkshire

Women’s Life and is an award-winning and accomplished journalist and writer.

Dawn-Maria is passionate about women’s rights, equality and diversity and explains why Breast

Cancer Haven has a special place in her heart. “As a Breast Cancer Haven Ambassador, I hope to

raise awareness about this wonderful charity. Having lost too many friends and associates to breast

cancer, it is important to me on a personal level to support Breast Cancer Haven, who offer much

needed services, advice and friendship to people and families affected by breast cancer at the most

difficult time in their lives.”

Dawn-Maria has supported Breast Cancer Haven over the years at their fundraising events but is

keen now to dedicate more time to increasing awareness of the charity. Previously, Dawn-Maria has

sat on news panels discussing 'women in the news' and has also been a panellist on 'Views in the

news' at the highly respected Women of the World festival. She is a broadcasting veteran with

experience on BBC TV, SKY News and Radio 5 Live. She has also written and contributed to national

and international publications.

Debra Horsman, Manager of Breast Cancer Haven, Yorkshire says, “It is great to have Dawn-Maria’s

support in helping us spread awareness here in the region. Nearly 5,000 women are diagnosed with

breast cancer here in Yorkshire every year, and we want them to know we are here to offer free

emotional, physical and practical support when they need it.”
