PILAU urges people to sample a new dish to mark World Food Week

Indian street food business PILAU is encouraging customers to try out food they haven’t sampled before, especially from an international cuisine that’s new to them, following World Food Week, this week until June 30.

“It’s a truly global occasion, and we’re pleased to support it,” said the owner of PILAU, George Pitkeatley. “Try out some new flavours and be prepared to have your taste buds tickled! If you’ve not had Indian street food before, now’s your chance!”

PILAU began in 2015 as a London street-food pop-up. The company now has a base in the capital’s Goodge Street and aims to launch another site in the city. The plan is to have three London stores by mid-2020.

PILAU has been labeled as the Indian LEON by many, it serves delicious salads and rice bowls and has a huge focus on fresh, healthy produce. They are also launching a new menu in July with the likes of Chargrilled Chicken Salad & 5 Hour Lamb Ricebowls featuring.

Dishes are spiced up with sauces such as mango and apricot chutney or mint and coriander yoghurt.

Earlier this year, the company pledged to help stop children in India going hungry with donations made for every customer ordering food as part of World Hunger Day.

World Food Week aims to give diners the chance to be more adventurous in their food choices. It’s also an opportunity for different food brands to showcase what they offer across a variety of platforms, and the week is becoming more popular each year.
