Snowdrop Independent Living proves they are essential as demand rockets

Snowdrop Independent Living’s confident decision to stay open during the first national lockdown, providing vital mobility equipment, has resulted in huge customer satisfaction and proof that the industry is “essential”.

Many competitors remained closed over confusion whether their industry was “essential”. However, by remaining open, learning, investing in their online presence and marketing, their business has boomed for Snowdrop Independent Living post lockdown. Demand for mobility aid repair is at a record high, and extra staff have been hired to ensure the best customer experience.

This West Midlands and Wales-based business have seven retail branches and three engineering departments, including three brand-new stores in Hall Green, Wolverhampton and Brierley Hill. The company focuses on offering independent living essentials, and mobility aids such as stairlifts and mobility scooters.

“I’m confident that we did the right and proper thing by reopening the stores so that the vulnerable customers we served were able to buy vital products. In particular, incontinence products, mobility aids, as well as our service provision to maintain equipment in homes.” Snowdrop Independent Living’s Managing Director, David Morgan, commented.

“One anecdote from our stores was that they had a customer standing at their door in tears because they were overwhelmed with relief by being able to buy continence pads for their mother – it’s stories like that which remind us why what we do is so worthwhile and essential.” He continued.

West Midlands Regional Manager of Snowdrop Independent Living, Cliff Payne commented: “We realised that the safety measures are here to stay for the foreseeable future so not only we have safety measures in places such as introducing a one-way system and social distancing in-store, we also focused on communicating the rules to our customers.”
