Stripped of our comfort zone and racked with uncertainty can lead to anxiety, doubt and fear which 50% of CEO’s have named it the greatest threat to their businesses.

In what has been the most uncertain time in history, 85% of people feel unable to make decisions in uncertain times, yet 85% of people also said their greatest fear was missing opportunities, according to new research by world-leading researchers from UCL.

Furthermore, more than half (56%) of adults admit to suffering from anxiety, self-doubt (47%) and a feeling of uncertainty (43%).

However, rather than face up to it and making tough choices, the majority (95%) admit to allowing avoidant behaviours to distract them, most commonly, wine, chocolate and sleep. But when asked, 85% admitted that avoidant behaviour gave them no long-term benefit at all.

But the world's largest experiment in uncertainty is offering the public an opportunity to rewire their brain and change their relationship with uncertainty. The ground-breaking new immersive experience will reduce anxiety, increase empathy and improve decision making. In other words, they can turn their anxiety into their superpowers.

Having already sparked interest from Netflix, Lego, Google and Mercedes, a pilot study achieved a near 40% increase in people’s tolerance to uncertainty and by the end of the study, 90% of participants said they now wanted to embrace it.

Creator of the Uncertainty Experts, Sam Coniff, and the scientific lead Katherine Templar Lewis used neuroscience to devise the psychological lessons that are weaved into the immersive experiment, which promises to give participants the power to adapt to uncertainty and twist the negatives to positives.

As part of the series, the audience will take tests, created by neuroscientists and UCL researchers, to reveal an Uncertainty Tolerance score, which is set to deplete within six weeks. By shifting the negative impacts of fear to ambition, fog to creativity and stasis to trust, test groups participants were shown to be more comfortable with taking advantage of uncertainty. Additionally, after experiencing this uncertainty, they reported higher positive affective reactions, and lower negative ones.

The documentary will air every Tuesday on November 9th, 16th, and 23rd, with three screening options a day.
